Multiple runners solid at Lovington

The Carlsbad cross country teams again had multiple runners stick together closer to the front portion of the pack and conclude Thursday’s Lovington Invitational in the top 20.

Cavegirls freshman Kourtney Taylor came in seventh at 21 minutes and 5 seconds, while juniors Baylee Lynn (21:26) and Karlie Clarkston (22:03) were 12th and 17th, respectively.

Cavemen juniors Cory Calvani (17:14) and Michael Sims (17:50) were 11th and 17th, respectively, on the boys side.

The girls were fourth overall at 103 team points, while the boys were fifth overall at 146 team points.

Carlsbad will participate in the Pecos Valley Invitational at 9 a.m. next Saturday in Roswell.
