Carlsbad Cross Country compete in state

RIO RANCHO, N.M. — The Carlsbad Boys Cross Country Team placed eighth overall at the New Mexico Cross Country Championship in Rio Rancho on Saturday.

The boys' team ran a total time of 1:29:03.20 and scored 217 points.

Individually, Micah Calderon ran a time of 17:28.15 to place 31st, Riley Smith, placed 35th, with a time of 12:34.40, Cory Calvani placed 44th with a time 17:50.85, Malachi Calderon placed 48th with a time of 17:56.05, Jordan Wright placed 59th with a time of 18:13.75, Michael Sims placed 71 with a time of 18:28.50 and Nathan Brown placed 82nd with a time of 19:18.00.

The Carlsbad Girls Cross Country Team placed 11th overall with a combined time of 1:54.44.10 and scored 323 points.

Karli Clarkston placed 50th with a time of 21:56.50, Kourtney Taylor placed 59th with a time of 22:22.00, Bobbie Heath placed 60th with a time of 22:27.95, Astyn Rodriguez placed 75th with a time of 23:42.60, Kendal Parham placed 79th with a time of 24:15.05, Isabella Chavez placed 83rd with at time of 25:46.20 and Katilin O'Dell placed 84th with a time of 25:52.75.
